International Volunteer Day (IVD) commemorates the contributions of volunteers world wide on the 5th of December. This year in particular, volunteers have acted against the direct threat posed by COVID-19 and wider challenges with a significant outpouring of solidarity. IVD 2020 is therefore an opportunity to thank volunteers for their action and showcase the impact of volunteering during the COVID-19 crisis. UNV ROWCA is therefore organising a Volunteer Award. It is an opportunity to highlight and reward volunteers' actions in the region as well as to showcase and encourage the contribution of volunteering to peace and development more widely.
