MDF is dedicated to sustainable development initiatives in Papua New Guinea, focusing on pressing environmental and infrastructural challenges. In collaboration with the UNDP, we are especially committed to the Kamiali Wildlife Management Area (KWMA). Within this region, climate change interplays with water supply issues, highlighting the immediate need for improved water infrastructure and robust public health solutions. In line with SDGs 6 and 15, our aim is to combat these challenges and ensure that the communities within the KWMA have reliable access to clean water and better sanitation standards.

Online volunteers will partner with MDF in the Kamiali Wildlife Management Area (KWMA) with the primary goal of refining the present water supply systems and elevating public health benchmarks. This entails:

  • Reviewing the current water supply systems in KWMA.
  • Remote Analysis of Sanitation Facilities: Using data provided by MDF, online volunteers will assess sanitation facilities and potential concerns without physical site visits.
  • Virtual Public Health Landscape Study: Utilize existing digital resources and online discussions with experts to understand KWMA's health and sanitation conditions.
  • Developing strategies to improve water accessibility and public health.
  • Collaborating with MDF and UNDP specialists for strategy implementation.
  • Monitoring and Analysis to ensure effective outcomes. The tasks will be distributed to the selected Online Volunteers by MDF.

Throughout their engagement, online volunteers will be closely aligned with the MDF PNG's contingent, assured of consistent guidance and requisite data insights.

The successful culmination of this mission will see online volunteers receive certificate issued by the UNV and receiving a commendation letter from MDF, a testament to their pivotal role.
