Duties and Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the consultant will be responsible for the following duties:

Oversee Knowledge building for the historical book planned for the UNJSPF 75th anniversary

  • Develop and oversee a knowledge management strategy for the UNJSPF 75th Anniversary historical book;
  • manage the l publication process of the UN Pension Fund historical book, including layout and printing;
  • draft the UNJSPF 75th Anniversary historical book.

Manage coordination, communication and advocacy efforts for the UNJSPF 75th anniversary - Coordinate inputs for the UNJSPF 75th Anniversary historical book; - collaborate with the UNJSPF Communication Team to enhance, update, and assist in the external dissemination of the UNJSPF 75th Anniversary; - build relations with external professionals and institutions.

Conduct research and documentation for the UNJSPF 75th anniversary - Conduct research and analysis on the UNJSPF; provide substantive inputs to the development of the UNJSPF historical book; - conduct interviews with select current and former staff members at the Fund and experts to expand and share knowledge to exchange views on latest findings; - lead the collection and analysis of information as well as preparation of presentations and reports for information sharing; - conduct detail archival and background research on the Fund in the United Nations, other member organizations and UNJPSF’s archives; - prepare archival inventory of photographs and assets pertaining to the Fund’s history; - perform other duties as needed.

    Qualifications/special skills An advanced university degree (Master's or Doctorate degree, or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration or related fields is required. A first-level degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, public administration or related area is required. Experience with crafting information communications products such as press kits, press releases, feature articles, talking points, speeches, booklets, brochures, backgrounders, audiovisual materials, etc., is required.

    Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
