The Junior Research Fellows will support the overall work of the assigned International Working Group of the and gain practical training and relevant experience in Ethical AI for educational and learning systems, focusing particularly on SEL. A potential Junior Research Fellow is a person who has completed a PhD in a relevant field and has worked in interdisciplinary teams focusing on education or has a keen interest in working in such teams to impact education policy and practice at all levels. Long Description ---------------- Under the overall guidance of the Director of UNESCO MGIEP and the direct supervision of the assigned International Working Group coordinators, the Junior Research Fellow will support the work of the assigned International Working Group on Ethics in AI-in-Education for SEL. More specifically, the Junior Research Fellow will: 1. Search to identify, review, synthesize and analyze relevant literature in close consultation with the Working Group coordinators. 2. Prepare and update, where necessary, the data and information used in reports in the assigned Working Group. 3. Contribute to drafting sections of assigned reports. 4. Compile comprehensive bibliography of the assigned report; and 5. Perform other tasks as required. In principle, this is a full-time, postdoctoral position reserved for highly motivated and talented junior academics interested in international, interdisciplinary science-technology work to impact the post-2030 global education agenda. **Skills and Competencies:** The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following competencies: - Strong scientific writing and communication ability in English - Solid proofreading and editing skills and orientation to details - Strong time management skills - Planning and organizing **Languages:** An excellent command, both written and spoken, of English **Note:** The Junior Research fellow cannot take other paid assignments without prior written permission from UNESCO MGIEP. **FEE AND ALLOWANCES** ---------------------- - The monthly fee will be US$2,500; - The fee will be paid @ US$3,500/month when non-Indian nationals are relocated to India for this programme; - If the fellow needs to relocate to India for this programme, Personal relocation travel cost for return travel (To & From) shall be paid as per actuals on submission of Invoices, tickets and boarding pass up to a maximum of USD 2,000. - If the fellow is already residing in India at the time of beginning of the proposed tenure at MGIEP or had resident status before or after the date his/her award letter was issued, the above-mentioned lump sum allowance will not be provided, and the monthly fee will be US$2,500. The actual costs of a round-trip air ticket between a city the fellow resides, and Delhi will be provided. - Candidates will have to arrange for their own accommodation. **PENALTY CLAUSE** ------------------ 1. The consultant is expected to maintain complete confidentiality by not sharing or using the resources/documents made available or created by him/her as part of this contract with any external agency outside of UNESCO MGIEP. 2. In the event of cancellation of any of the elements specified in the contract by UNESCO MGIEP, the vendor shall be paid only a part of the cost that shall depend on the extent of the task being completed as per the terms of the contract. 3. UNESCO MGIEP will have the right to withhold any part / full payment until there is 100% satisfaction of the deliverable. 4.
