Overview

Support implementation and monitoring of field activities for FAO Azerbaijan program.

You have:

  • University degree relevant to the nature of assignment, preferably in agriculture, agricultural and environmental management, business management
  • At least one year of experience in development projects or initiatives being involved in implementation of similar tasks
  • Working knowledge (level C) of English
  • National of Azerbaijan

Organizational Setting

FAO Azerbaijan Partnership and Liaison Office, in close cooperation with the government and its in-line Ministries/Agencies, contributes to the sustainable agri-food systems, and supports the government with addressing issues food security, agriculture and rural development, natural resource management in the country. FAO’s technical assistance, provided mainly through projects, includes institution building, development of knowledge and competencies, and exchange of experience among FAO member countries.

Reporting Lines

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Azerbaijan, the programmatic guidance and direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative, International Program and Operations Specialist.

Technical Focus

Support the implementation, monitoring and coordination of field activities under the FAO Azerbaijan program in alignment with FAO procedures and project work plans. Provide administrative, organizational and translation support to ensure effective delivery of project outputs and stakeholder engagement.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Support FAO Azerbaijan program in daily follow up and coordination of the assigned projects (UTF/AZE/017/AZE and UTF/AZE/021/AZE) implementation according to the approved work plan; • Follow-through all necessary administrative actions, following FAO standard procedures and requirements, provide administrative and organizational support for the arrangements for workshops, training, seminars, recruitment of national consultants and field missions; • Participate at the project meetings, prepare, edit and share meeting minutes; • Support the overall monitoring of program and projects, participate and assist in summarizing the results of surveys as well as findings from meetings in the regions; • Review, compile, edit and draft project documents, reports, including reports of the consultants and publications, provide unofficial translation of project related documents, and publications from Azerbaijani to English and from English to Azerbaijani; • Support with collecting the project visibility materials including photos for the Communications Team; • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

• University degree relevant to the nature of assignment, preferably in agriculture, agricultural and environmental management, business management • At least one year of experience in development projects or initiatives being involved in implementation of similar tasks. • Working knowledge (level C) of English • National of Azerbaijan.
