This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

• As an active UN women team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to Un Women and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: • Support documents development and roll out the project’s work plan and deliverables. • Communications and advocacy strategy to transform gender norms, to sensitize the media and electorate on the need for women in public life developed and coordinated. • Coordinate and support the NAP implementation. • Support women machineries, particularly the Women Empowerment Department, to roll out gender mainstreaming and gender equality. • Outlines gender equality and women’s empowerment in a community setting; integrates gender principles with UN Women programme, mainstreaming the same values across stakeholders’ programme. • Strategize GBV and VAW, mainstream service delivery, and policy development to eliminate violence across different settings. • Regular reporting of the programme activities undertaken, highlighting outcomes, recommendations, and lessons learned. • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Programme Analyst or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Junior Programme Analyst will:

1- Programme Planning, Results Based Reporting, Monitoring, and Evaluation.

• Report to and support senior management and technical advisors, including activities that have been or will be implemented in particular NAP and WPHF projects. • Support and promote the constructive implementation of UN Women annual plan, which is extended to include IPs plans. • Support the mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation of projects, including gender-impact analysis methodologies. Report regularly on UN Women activities concerning monitoring and implementing of UN Women partners' activities. • Develop and share best practices in ensuring gender equality goals in project implementation. • Contribute to UN Women reports as necessary and required, e.g., Report on the Implementation of SCR 1325, WPHF, among others. • Collect and disseminate information and reports on gender issues that affect women and girls in Iraq/Kurdistan. Encourage the accumulation and use of gender and sex-disaggregated data, statistics, and indicators in reporting.

2- Represent UN Women and ensure that the gender equality women empowerment agenda is implemented.

• Participate regularly in meetings and represent UN WOMEN as required. Assist with gender issues, especially follow-up meetings, workshops, conferences, and technical discussions. • Ensure that public information activities and materials are gender-sensitive and that the gender perspective is integrated into all training programmes. • Liaise UN WOMEN intervention with senior managers who should develop the necessary commitment and competencies for policymaking, considering the operational procedures' positioning at the implementation modality's core.

3- Provide coordination with other entities and provide inputs to advocacy, knowledge-building, and communication efforts.

• Collaborate in developing analytical papers and position papers on NAP II, WPHF, and relevant thematic areas of UN Women concerns. • Initiate effective communication, advice, and support from a gender perspective with different stakeholders. • Provide inputs to background documents, briefs, and presentations; • Support the organization of advocacy activities and campaigns events, training, workshops, and knowledge products; • Provide inputs to the development of knowledge management products.

4- Performs other official duties and tasks which the Programme Management Specialist and office management may request.

gender equality, with a substantial focus on gender and women empowerment. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related disciplines, economics, social sciences, public policy, business, or another relevant field is required women empowerment. • Practical experience, knowledge, and expertise in UN system. • Experience in programme management, project cycle, and monitoring or reporting on gender equality • Good analytical and research skills. • Good writing and organizational skills. • Good knowledge of gender-responsive fiscal policy issues. • Good knowledge of Iraq's national planning context. • Good knowledge of results-based planning and management. • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and cooperatively and productively both with internal and external colleagues. • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and ability to work in multicultural and multi-disciplinary environments • Good communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers receive a volunteer living allowance to sustain a basic, adequate, and safe lifestyle. This allowance varies from one location to another depending on local living costs, but all national UN Volunteers in the same location receive the same allowance. Below is a summary of the Conditions of Service. Allowances The purpose of allowances for national UN Volunteers is to enable the national UN Volunteers to sustain a modest and secure standard of living at the duty station. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward or salary in exchange for the volunteer work. Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): All national UN Volunteers are entitled to a monthly volunteer living allowance of USD 1,951.91. The purpose of this allowance is to cover the basic living costs of the national UN Volunteer, and her or his family when applicable. The allowance is to ensure that the volunteer can sustain a basic, adequate and safe lifestyle. The monthly allowance rate is a fixed rate for the duty station as established by UNV headquarters. Resettlement allowance: Eligible national UN Volunteers are entitled to receive a resettlement allowance upon satisfactory completion of the assignment. The allowance assists the volunteer to reintegrate into society both professionally and personally upon completion of their UN Volunteer service.
