The overall objective of the Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration in North Africa Programme is that vulnerable and stranded migrants from North Africa safely and voluntarily return to and from North Africa, and returnees sustainably reintegrate into their countries of origin. The programme is funded by the European Union and being implemented in Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.

With this assignment, the UN Volunteer will be supporting the Regional Programme Coordination team, based in IOM’s Regional Office for MENA, in ensuring thorough monitoring of the programme’s activities across the region, accurate reporting, and successful implementation of the programme’s regional activities.

Under the direct supervision of the MPRR-North Africa Programme Coordinator, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Assist in organizing regional events on migrant protection, return and reintegration in North Africa, by contributing to coordination on participation, logistics and content production. • Assist IOM missions in the programme to ensure timely implementation and reporting in line with contractual requirements based on requests for support. • Participate in the programme’s internal coordination by contributing to monthly monitoring activities and ensuring they are accurately documented (note taking, follow-up, etc.) • Contribute to the programme quarterly and annual reporting by seeking and consolidating inputs from relevant colleagues and drafting narrative reports and participate in report re-view with the programme team. • Contribute to the programme’s footprint by drafting and reviewing concept notes, information notes and other documents as may be relevant. • Any other tasks that may be assigned by the Programme coordinator.

or demonstrated interest in migrant protection and/or migration policy and previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded.
