Bangladesh is hosting some 960,000 Rohingya refugees and Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMNs). The Rohingya issue has become a protracted crisis since the largest influx in 2017. UNESCO has provided education and skills development opportunities to the Rohingya and Host Communities since 2018 in collaboration with international and national organisations. Under the direct supervision of the Education Programme Specialist and overall guidance of the Head of Office, the individual international consultant will support the implementation of UNESCO’s education and skills development projects for Rohingya and host communities and perform the following tasks and responsibilities from mid-March 2024 to mid-September 2024: Long Description ---------------- **Tasks and responsibilities:** 1. Support the Education Unit in implementing the Integrated Literacy and Livelihood Skills Development projects. 1. Assist with the drafting of project documents including concept notes, budget files, meeting minutes, narrative reports, etc. and ensure that final versions are properly documented. 2. Support the development of a training manual on the Basic and Functional Literacy Courses and a step-by-step user guide on the literacy programme. 3. Support the arrangements for donor visits including drafting the agenda, coordinating the visits with partners and stakeholders and other logistic arrangements. 4. Contribute to the preparation of knowledge and communication products for advocacy and outreach of the project. 5. Support the organization of workshops and events under the literacy and livelihood skills development projects. 6. Assist in the development of technical support of new interventions or projects on literacy and livelihood skills development. Long Description ---------------- 2\. Support the organization of a forum on “Translating Commitment to Action for Education of Rohingya and Host Community Children”. 1. Assist with the revision of forum concept note and provisional programme. 2. Coordinate the call for proposals process including the revision and launch of the call, review of proposals, and notification of the selection results. 3. Coordinate the online registration of participants. 4. Support the invitation to participants and speakers. 5. Assist with preparing speeches/PPTs/briefs/highlights in relation to the forum for dignitaries. 6. Undertake a mission to Cox’s Bazar and support the delivery of the forum on site and assist with the rapporteur, notetaking and synthesis report drafting for the forum. 7. Other duties related to Education in Emergencies activities assigned by the supervisor and Head of Office. Long Description ---------------- **Deliverables:** UNESCO shall make the payments to the Consultant upon submission and approval by UNESCO of the following outputs during the contract period: 1. 1. A workplan. 2. Monthly reports highlighting progress of project implementation, opportunities identified, challenges encountered and other relevant information. 3. However, UNESCO will cover the consultant's mission costs within Bangladesh as part of the assignment.
