The Resident Coordinator’s Office (UN RCO) in Serbia would like to engage UNV Junior Data, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Officer to provide support to the UN RCO and UNCT in the process of data collection and analysis, monitoring and evaluation and reporting requirements.

UNCT in Serbia currently comprises 20 UN Agencies, Funds and Programs, both resident and non-resident who work together to advance national development priorities in line with the 2030 Agenda and 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The Team is coordinated by the UN Resident Coordinator and operates under the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2021-2025) signed between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the UN Country Team.

The UN Volunteer will support the RC Data Management and Reporting Officer in routine progress monitoring and reports of the UNSDCF Results Groups to share information, highlight implementation progress and constraints against planned outcomes, outputs and activities in work plans and identify key issues for attention of the UNCT.

UNSDCF Results group feedbacks represent a main element of the Annual progress reports describing actual outputs or the results of major activities delivered against joint work plans and use data from monitoring efforts. The UNCT Annual Results Reports are a primary source of information on annual UN activities in Serbia for the Serbian Government, implementation partners, donors, civil society organizations and wider public.

In 2024, the UNCT Serbia will be preparing for the SDCF final evaluation in the penultimate year of the SDCF programme cycle to support the formulation of the next planning document. The evaluation will assess the relevance of the SDCF outcomes, the effectiveness and efficiency of implementation by partners, and their sustainability and contribution to country priorities. The evaluation will also gauge the performance of the Joint National Steering Committee and SDCF Results Groups.

Under the direct supervision of Resident Data Management and Monitoring Officer and in close coordination with the RCO Head of Office, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Contributes to the work of RCO particularly in the areas of data collection, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. • Supports the RCO team in providing inputs and background analysis to the develop-ment of various documents and reports depending on requests by Government and relevant counterparts. • Support the functioning of the UNCT Monitoring and Evaluation Group including assis-tance with organization of meetings, taking and consolidating meeting minutes, notes etc. • Assists the Data Management Officer with data entry to UN Info monitoring system. • Assist RCO team in compiling all regular and ad hoc reports and related checking work. • Support organization and implementation of meetings and maintain the data base of UN partners in specific thematic areas. • Contribute to preparation of reports on joint programming activities in specific pro-grammatic areas relevant for gender, human rights, vulnerable groups etc. • Supports assessments and evaluations done by UNCT/RCO related to UN Coopera-tion Framework. • Contributes to the update of the Joint Work Plans. • Assists RCO team in compiling all regular and ad hoc reports including the Annual Re-sults Report • Participates in organization, implementation and follow-up of meetings/events and • Participates in SDG related work relevant for programmatic activities including cooper-ation with the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia • Works closely with other UNVs in UNCT Serbia in promoting volunteerism in UN de-velopment activities.

or demonstrated interest and/or experience in data analysis, statistics, finance, economics, research, and analytical tools. (Candidates with 0 to 3 years of experience can be considered). • Demonstrates strong data manipulation and computer skills. • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills. • Evidence of ability to efficiently work with online data entry; to work independently and in teams. • Excellent organizational skills. • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability. • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded. • Strong knowledge of development statistics including SDG data framework. • Command of all Microsoft applications and other software needed for data entry.

The UN Volunteer will be based in Belgrade, the capital of the Republic of Serbia. The urban area of Belgrade has a population of 1.23 million, while nearly 1.7 million people live within the administrative limits of the City of Belgrade. Belgrade has an extensive public transport system consisting of buses, trams, and trolleybuses, which is affordable and widely used by residents. The city is well connected with the other parts of the country as well as with other European cities and capitals by busses, trains and airlines. Thanks to Belgrade’s central location, most of the other European cities are a couple of hours away. Belgrade itself became one of the prominent touristic destinations in Europe. Belgrade offers a unique sense of history, a rich vein of culture, and a variety of entertaining, cultural, sport and out-door experiences. Social life in Belgrade is usually a pleasant experience for foreigners and there is a range of activities available. Belgrade real estate market is very vibrant, and it is not difficult to find safe and comfortable accommodation. Services in terms of banking, transportation, communications, etc. are well-developed and available. The significant number of people in Belgrade speak English, so it won’t be a problem in everyday communication. English-speaking media is available, and restaurants and cafes have menus in English.

The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward, or salary in exchange for the UN Volunteer’s service.
