You have:
- Advanced university degree in social science, technology, environment, education, public policy, or related area.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the fields of energy, climate change and international development.
- Experience in supporting capacity-building initiatives and/or network engagement activities is desirable.
- Experience of preparing analysis, design and delivery of and/or knowledge sharing on climate technology is an asset.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Duties and Responsibilities
- General Background The CTCN is the operational arm of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism. It is hosted by UNEP in Copenhagen. The mission of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) is to stimulate technology cooperation and to enhance the development and transfer of technologies to developing countries. The CTCN assists developing country Parties at their request, building or strengthening their capacity to prepare and implement technology projects that span the technology transfer continuum. The CTCN supports public and private sector action on mitigation and adaptation, enhancing low emissions and climate-resilient development in a manner consistent with the capabilities and priorities of countries. 2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment A consultant is required to support CTCN in the delivery of the service areas of capacity-building and network engagement, under the supervision of the Programme Officer (P4) of Capacity Building and Network Engagement, or a person designated by the Director of CTCN. The Consultant will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities in the following areas: Capacity-building • Assist the delivery of capacity-building activities as approved in the Joint Work Programme of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism and Programme of Work of CTCN for 2023-2027 • Support the delivery Global Thematic and regional Capacity Building programs, Global Network Engagement events, including undertaking groundwork and research on topics of the events, identification of speakers, promotion of events, preparing summary of the events • Assist the development of thematic program-related knowledge materials • Assist the development of modules for capacity-building programs to be implemented as part of Technical Assistance projects, including analyses of capacity-building-focused TA projects supported by CTCN and similar international organizations/agencies • Contribute to knowledge management and communication activities of CTCN on capacity building, including delivery of webinars, web-based training sessions and publications • Support a robust reporting of capacity building activities • Assist in monitoring and following up on relevant COP/CMA decisions and CTCN Advisory Board discussions related to capacity building, and support their integration into the implementation of CTCN’s capacity building activities\ • Support administrative processes, as necessary, to ensure delivery of capacity-building activities Network engagement • Undertake the process of registering new network members, including review of Network member’s eligibility in joining CTC’s Network • Conduct regular analysis of network members trend and their engagements in the work of CTCN • Conduct regular webinars featuring the work of network members • Identify and create success stories of network members engagements that can be featured as promotional materials • Contribute to knowledge management and communication activities of CTCN on network engagement, including webinars, web-based training sessions and publications • Liaise with consortium members of CTCN and provide support for their further engagement with CTCN activities • Undertake the preparation of biennial surveys on matters related to network engagement • Identify and create opportunities for enhancing south-south collaboration among Network members • Contribute to robust reporting of network engagement activities • Assist in monitoring and following up on relevant COP/CMA decisions and CTCN Advisory Board discussions related to network engagement, and support their integration into the implementation of CTCN’s network engagement activities • Support administrative processes, as necessary, to ensure delivery of network engagement activities National designated entities support • Provide relevant material to support the onboarding of National designated entities (NDEs) • Maintain and track the list of updated NDEs in CTCN website Other tasks • Provide relevant inputs and deliver presentations on matters related to capacity-building and/or network engagement, as required • Contribute to the formulation of CTCN Programme of Work, Annual Operating Plans, and other documents, as required • Other tasks as directed by Programme Officer of Capacity Building and Network Engagement or Director of CTCN
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree in (Master’s degree or equivalent) in social science, technology, environment, education, public policy, or related area. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. At least 3 years of professional experience in the fields of energy, climate change and international development is required. Experience in supporting capacity-building initiatives and/or network engagement activities is desirable. Experience of preparing analysis, design and delivery of and/or knowledge sharing on climate technology is an asset. Experience of working with International Organizations is an asset.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
