Job Description
Your responsibilities
Your primary role will be to support communications and event activities organized by the team of the IdeaSquare (ID2) at CERN, in relation to EU funded projects (among which the ATTRACT projects), ID2's 10th anniversary, ID2 student training programmes and external stakeholder visits. As a junior communications officer for ID2, you will report to the ID2 senior communications officer.
Your tasks will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing communications support for EU funded projects that ID2 coordinates and/or participates in, including the coordination and organization of any dissemination events and (final) conferences,
- Maintaining the communications strategy and visual materials up to date (ID2 and EU funded projects),
- Participating in meetings with the team and other stakeholders,
- Logistics support to the ID2 team with respect to managing external visits to ID2,
- Writing news updates and articles about all activities, including updates on the ID2 website, newsletter, social media content and articles for the CERN channels. This also include the production (incl. scripting, filming, editing) of short videos,
- Assisting in the production of printed communication materials including brochures, banners, invitations, etc.

Your profile
Skills and/or knowledge
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Proven experience in organising large (=50+ person) communication/dissemination events.
- Proven experience in communicating about Design Thinking methodologies.
- Proven experience in preparing, producing and publishing web and social media content, incl. short video-content. Well-versed in using relevant applications.
- Well-versed in all standard MS Office applications, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiar with web-based project management platforms.
- Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Social and media sciences (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
