Overview

Support communication and digital media activities for UN Serbia.

You have:

  • BA degree or an equivalent qualification in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or related fields is required.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in managing social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, combined with skills in creative media executions is required.
  • Fluency in English and Serbian is required.
  • Knowledge of Canva, Mailchimp, video editing tools, and familiarity with the UN system is desirable.

Result of Service

• Creatively produce and adapt UN-related content, such as stories, educational graphics, photos, campaign material, audio, video, infographics, and data visualizations, collaborating with the RCO team to tailor content for social media platforms and post daily. • Assist in maintaining and managing the UN Serbia website (available in English and Serbian) along with its social media profiles. • Craft compelling features and success stories (in both English and local language) showcasing UN initiatives and achievements locally, drawing from fieldwork and other pertinent sources. • Consistently update the UN Serbia social media monthly media grid through collaboration with RCO and the UN Communication Group (UNCG). • Monitor a variety of sources for fresh content and insights regarding UN-related activities. • Attend events organized by RCO/UN agencies to gather quotes, and capture photos and videos for social media use. • Capture photography and create brief video segments at UN RCO events for social media promotion. • Research trends and noteworthy content from partners for potential sharing; monitor social media comments and questions, flagging them to the RCO. • Produce and assess web traffic reports with Google Analytics and other social media analytics tools. • Compile monthly statistical reports evaluating the performance of the @UN Serbia social media platforms. • Participate actively in maintaining the UN Serbia photo library for use in social media campaigns. • Support in developing and disseminating the UN Serbia bimonthly newsletter using tools like Mailchimp. • Contribute to drafting communications materials for conferences, forums, and other engagements. • Perform proofreading tasks (both in English and in local language), as required. • Offer written and verbal translation services as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Resident Coordinator Office in Serbia serves the Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team by assisting in the planning, execution, oversight, and reporting of the UN Cooperation Framework (formerly known as UNDAF) and all associated endeavors related to Agenda 2030 in the Republic of Serbia. The UN Resident Coordinator's Office fulfills five main duties: 1. Strategic Planning 2. Economics 3. Partnerships and Development Finance 4. Data and Results Management and Reporting 5. Communications and Advocacy. Working under the direction of the Communication and Advocacy Officer and the Head of the UN Resident Coordinator's Office, this part-time position involves supporting Communication and Advocacy activities on Public Information, Social Media Campaigns, and Media Monitoring.
