Organizational Setting

FAO's office for Yemen is responsible for developing, promoting, overseeing and implementing agreed strategies for addressing countrywide food, agriculture and rural development priorities under Yemen. It develops and maintains relations with the relevant Ministries at country level. This position is based in FAO Representation in Sanaa, Yemen. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Reporting Lines

The Junior Assistant Warehouse will be Under the general supervision of the FAO Representative and the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer.

Technical Focus

- Assist in tracking entry and exit of goods from the FAO field office warehouse and ensure the right procedure is followed - Assist in updating stock cards whenever goods are received or issued.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Assist in the daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks such as counting, stocking and staging the commodities in compliance with the warehouse management requirements. • Assist in preparing and verify warehouse documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records, to ensure immediate reporting on Inputs movements in line with the corporate requirements. • Assist in monitoring condition of the warehouse and Inputs and take appropriate actions to support efficient warehouse space-utilization and well-organized Input storage following FAO warehouse standards. • Assist in the implementation of appropriate measures to safeguard Inputs and to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in line with FAO established procedures and authorization received from the supervisor. • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor. • Supervise and report the implementation of contractors ESMP’s, GRM and GBVAP in compliance with the project ESMF and safeguards tools with safeguards team collaboration. • Perform other duties as required

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of a Technical Diploma. • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience of warehouse management. • Working knowledge (level C) in Arabic and English. • National of Yemen.
