This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

• Support Federal Ministry of Health to improve monitoring and tracking of the support provided by different partners and stakeholders to FMOH and health sector in Sudan and therefore, contribute to improve effective development cooperation and advance progress towards attaining Universal Health Coverage with more focus on underserved and marginalized populations (IDPs, returnees, refugees, host communities, etc.) • Enhance resource mobilization and improve effective utilization of existing resources through development of national capacities in monitoring and tracking systems;

Under the supervision of Coordinator, Health Systems Development Unit and as part of a team the youth volunteer will support Directorate General of Global Health in Federal Ministry of Health to perform the following assignments:

• Support customization and installation of the tracking system the FMOH servers • Support the training of FMOH staff in using the software • Support conduct of routine tasks, such as backing up data, monitoring network and systems, servers, and peripherals, etc • Provide support to ensure that end user system is running smoothly by support providing system maintenance, ensure data protection and provide end-user support. • Provide support to ensure that the software is protected against. • Produce regular reports on functionality of the system and support providing recommendations for improvement.

• Demonstrated interest and/or experience (up to 2 years) in managing tracking systems and software. • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded. • Technical Skills: MS Office (MS Word, Excel & Power Point).
• Desirable: Excellent inter-personal and communication skills with fast learning ability. Effective organizational skills and ability to handle work in an efficient and timely manner. Ability to coordinate tasks to meet deadlines. Familiarity with WHO business process is regarded as an asset.

The duty station is Khartoum, and as this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
