• Plan, design and code medium complexity applications as per the Unit's requirements using ASP.NET MVC / Core technology and C#. • Detailed documentation of the application both for the end user and for other Technical staff. • The Integrity and security of all the data is well maintained. • Applications and Database are well managed and maintained along with their peripherals.
• Maintenance of application in Production, Test and development • Trouble shooting of Common user/system/application errors

Under the supervision of the Information Systems Officer, the UNV IT Technician will be responsible for the following duties: • Development, Installation/configuration of applications. • Develop web / mobile applications and other such products to meet the diverse needs of the office. • Address logistical needs for the collection and data gathering at the cantonment sites for the identification and registration of combatants and weapons at the cantonment sites • Maintaining applications in Production, Test and Development environments. • Make medium and advanced complexity changes to any level of the application code. • Using Report generation tools such as Crystal Reports and/or SQL statement, develop user reports from the SQL 2012 or higher based database. • Plan, design and code medium complexity applications with C#, ASP.NET MVC / Core, and Visual Basic.NET. • Code SQL stored procedures, triggers, packages, and functions. • Collaborate with users in the construction of testing procedures to ensure accuracy of information systems and data integrity. • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot databases on servers including database storage management, procedures, tools for access, and monitoring and tuning of database including database instance capacity planning and implementation to ensure on-going operation and access. • Prepare and maintain strategies and documentations for database maintenance, back-up and recovery procedures. • Plan, configure and setup data Replication between regional and central Databases and be able to maintain and troubleshoot it accordingly. • Plan, develop, implement and administer disaster recovery plans for the database environment to ensure database integrity. • Design and create new databases and refresh test database environment. • Troubleshoot minor level Network and connectivity problems. • Train others in use of developed databases and front end applications, or serve as the focal point for database administration, maintenance, its usage, and documentation. • Supervise data entry and other office Operations. • Performs other duties as required by the SSR-DDR section.

application development life cycle, database Administration & Management, reports generation, database and web application development. Experience in DDR process could be considered as an advantage. Must have theoretical and practical knowledge of programming tools and technologies used to develop applications in Visual Studio. NET 2013 and higher, C#, ASP.NET MVC / Core, VB.NET, JAVA. Excellent knowledge and proficiency in using SQL Server 2012 and higher, having Microsoft Certified Database Administrator / Solutions Developer will be desirable. Working knowledge of French will be desirable.

Bamako is a non-family duty station with a difficult security and working environment. Mali is a non-family duty station. Living conditions are acceptable in Bamako, but security instructions need to be strictly complied with. Adequate housing is available for rent at US$ 500-1500 per month. The national currency is the Franc CFA (April 2020 exchange rate was 1 US$ = 560 FCFA). Visa credit cards are accepted in some hotels and larger shops. Mali is a country prone to malaria, so mosquito nets are highly recommended. Basic medicines are available from pharmacies, but provision needs to be made for specialized medication. Security recommendations from the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) must be followed by all UN Staff in the course of their assignments in Mali. For the sake of rewarding experience, UN volunteers in MINUSMA carry out their duties with flexibility, commitment, and a willingness to live and work in challenging conditions including heat and limited water and electricity supply.
