JOB PURPOSE

WFP in collobration with BISP has launched an Online App to support this programme with the centralized database connected with NADRA and BISP. IT has key role to make sure the connectivity and hardware support. This is supported through an App on Tabs used for beneficiary registration, verification process, distribution, transfer etc. Additionally there are centralized UPS's installed for the stable power to run the IT equipment installed at these sites.

To deliver standard software and hardware support services, as well as monitoring and maintaining a wide range of information sources, to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Carry-out system and equipment maintenance tasks, such as back-up system data and system protection, to ensure they are running effectively and enable easy and efficient use. 2. Undertake basic monitoring and troubleshooting of server systems to ensure a consistent delivery of IT services to staff. 3. Respond to basic queries about technology and systems to support the correct application of technology. 4. Receive and inspect all incoming assets and report discrepancies in IT materials inventory to senior colleagues to ensure materials are effectively tracked. 5. Perform basic beta testing and support the roll out of new versions of centrally supported software to ensure software is operational for WFP staff. 6. Ensure information is up to date and accurate within inventories, databases, websites, and archives in order to support senior officers in managing these systems. 7. With direction from senior colleagues, collate information to be included in standard material such as training documentation and web content, to contribute to the availability of information about services and products. 8. Follow set emergency response processes and procedures as required to provide support in enabling emergency food assistance needs to be met.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support the deployment of IT equipment in the BISP facilitation centres; required for the smooth operations. 2. Play an active role in supporting the overall IT system at all facilitation centres at the BISP Sites/Facilitation Centres; on-site support and troubleshooting of Tab and laptops. 3. Ensure smooth operation of power systems (UPS, generators and solar system). 4. Respond to queries from users, understanding and resolving issues, providing advice and ensuring, procedures, systems and tools are correctly applied to support them. Keep track of the issues and coordinate with PO for resolution. 5. Assist in the operation and maintenance of the LAN, WAN and WLAN systems. 6. Assist in setting up and configuring the end user requirements such as operating system and productivity software (Office 365, Teams, PDF) installation on computing devices (laptops/tabs). 7. Support the capacity building of Cooperating Partners and Government counterparts as and when required. 8. Ensure all implementing partners in the area, registration/distribution points have adequate connectivity with maximum availability and minimized down time. 9. Check routine maintenance/check of the Solar System, Centralized UPS and Internet equipment i.e, DSL, Data Sims, VSAT, Display Screens and printing devices etc. 10. Rectification of Android application issues in coordination with BISP application development team. 11. Reports to Provincial IT or any designated WFP staff member. 12. Perform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. Diploma of Associate Engineering in Electrical Technology supplemented by Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT

Experience:

Minimum of 3 to 4 Years of IT experience, preferably with NGO's/INGO's and UN in a similar role. Has experience resolving level 1 IT issues, operations of computers, hardware maintainence, trouble shooting

& Software support.

Language: General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.

WFP is supporting Govt of Pakistan in implementation of BISP nutrition programme to reduce high rates of chronic malnutrition (stunting) across Pakistan. BISP utilizes the existing primary health care system to implement stunting prevention programmes which include the provision of specialized nutritious foods. The programmes target pregnant and lactating women and children under the age of 2 enrolled in the Government’s national unconditional cash transfer scheme.

These jobs are based at Multiple locations i.e. Country Office Islamabad, Provincial Offices-KPK, Sindh & Punjab. The Job holders report to a Head of Provincial office and/or Head of the Unit or designate.
