JOB PURPOSE

To deliver high quality technical support, system and data maintenance across a range of areas, in order to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of Head of Field Office in Maungdaw, the incumbent will perform the following duties:-

  • Maintain inventory of material and/or database of information, such as, computer related equipment, communications equipment, website content, training material, etc.;
  • Monitor and maintenance of the local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) system to ensure that Network Operating Systems support database, documents, resources and other data files;
  • Maintain logs or archives of information, such as computer related logs, trouble tickets, directories, website publications, registries, data warehouses, reports, etc.;
  • Assist in the deployment/disseminations of standard material, such as, computer hardware and/or software, applications, programs, directories, telephony, web content, publications, database content, training material, etc.;
  • Assist in the maintenance of systems and equipment by carrying out routine tasks, such as backing up data, monitoring network and systems, servers and peripherals, running systems diagnostics, patch management and system optimization, removing viruses and bad data, etc.;
  • Undertake service, maintenance and repair of servers, user computers and network accessories;

  • Resolve a variety of ICT related problems and/or assist in resolution of problems by identifying and forwarding issues to the appropriate person;
  • Assist in deployment and administration of the corporate messaging system;
  • Administer user access to systems and databases, monitor system and application usage;
  • Monitor and report monthly PABX, CDMA, Sat phones & VSAT usage;
  • To ensure proper functioning of telecommunication systems including VSAT, HF/VHF radio systems, satellite phones, wireless point-to-point WAN solutions and PABX systems;
  • Monitor radios during security incidents for security calls and monitor the staff movement as assigned;
  • Ensure appropriate data and security telecommunications support to WFP staff and critical interagency telecommunication hubs;
  • Assist in installation and maintenance of Electrical services for regular and emergency operations, ensuring as safe and reliable working environment in accordance to WFP electrical standards;
  • Assist 20 % of times in the administrative tasks which are not related to IT assigned by the supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as required;

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A diploma/degree with IT or related field.

Experience: At least five years of progressively responsible job-related experience in information technology or telecommunications or information management, such as, WAN/LAN networking, operating systems, telephone services, radio unit, web design, registry or similar. Some experience in client support, such as, a Help Desk or User Support Unit, web design team, telephone maintenance service, e-marketing group, hotline, or similar.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the Myanmar and English.

• Has experience resolving more complex technical issues. • Has worked with head of units in defining requirements for functional area. • Has experience with the application of client services standards to resolve or escalate clients’ service problems.
