The reality of the NGO sector is changing. Tools enabling efficient global processes in finance, procurement, grant management, and HR are becoming a prerequisite for providing the help and assistance offered to displaced individuals. We need the compliance and transparency they offer – and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is driving the transformation of a globally streamlined operating model for improved services for our internal customers, people of concern, and for the donors and partners we depend on to fulfil our mission.

DRC’s implementation of MS Dynamics F&O has been live for more than three years in both HQ in Denmark and our regional and country operations. The application management team covers a total of 16 employees in Denmark and Poland responsible for all aspects of lifecycle management – from development, maintenance, support, release management and upgrades. We run four key business processes with more than 6000 users. We base our operations on Agile principles but always adapt to reality of our organisation. In DRC people always take precedence over process and technology.

We are looking for an IT Manager with the experience and drive to ensure that our endeavour to create a globally appreciated core ERP infrastructure continues in alignment with the strategic direction laid out for MS Dynamics by the Dynamics Governance Board – and delivers on its promise to enable to objectives of DRC’s Strategy 2025.

We balance this with our delivery of seamless collaboration platforms for our colleagues in need of flexibility to perform their tasks and collaborate globally irrespective time and place and a robust and expanding ERP platform in Microsoft Dynamics.

About the job

You are a strong people manager with a solid background in ERP Application Management. You have taken a leading role in global ERP implementations, and you have management applications through their entire lifecycle. No SAFe® or ITIL-based process is new to you. You know how to leverage the best engaged team members, articulate clearly the expectations to service from key vendors, and create strong collaborations across cultural and organisational barriers. These personal characteristics will be critical to continue the journey of uniform adoption levels for DRC Dynamics globally.

It is expected that you will further drive internationalisation of the IT organisation.

  • Lead our ERP MS Dynamics Application Management team of 16 employees
  • Maintain adequate quality and governance processes to ensure global financial compliance
  • Deliver robust release plans and upgrade paths
  • Create further efficiencies in support and maintenance structures to prioritise additional optimisation for end users’
  • Manage the continuous alignment between application, roles and access structures, data standards, and the organisational structure and business model of the DRC
  • Act as a focal point for application management expertise across the global DRC organisation.
  • Attract and retain highly motivated and qualified IT staff with a leadership style aligned with the DRC culture
  • Engage as partner to stakeholders outside IT organisation installing confidence with our deliverable, transparency in our approach, and safeguarding the outcome of IT investments.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 5 years documented experience as ERP application manager and/or line manager within application management. You have the technical knowledge to challenge architectural decisions and design, and you know how to leverage key IT methodologies (SAFe®, PMI, Prince2, ITIL, Cobit) and demonstrate the ability to turn challenge into opportunity – with colleagues within and outside the IT organisation.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Hold an academic master’s degree
  • Have strong analytical skills
  • Be persistent, resilient, and structured
  • Open and inclusive management style
  • A successful track record of leading ERP lifecycle management teams
  • Demonstrated ability in coaching and developing both experienced employees as well as bringing less experienced employees fast to strong performance levels
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework and experience from ITIL implementation projects
  • SAFe® certification
  • Solution/Enterprise Architect experience
  • Microsoft Certifications
  • NGO-experience
  • Knowledge of French and Danish is desirable.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with agreement between DRC and Lederaftalen (management agreement) which is available at lederne.dk. This is contractually a national position for which local Danish terms and conditions apply.
