Overview

You have:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
  • Fluency in the local language.
  • Experience working in NGOs is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

IT Intern – Country Focused Role

This role has a strong country focus and is responsible for ensuring compliance with DRC procedures and guidelines. The IT Intern plays a key role in contributing to the development of country strategies, translating them into action plans and supporting day-to-day tasks. The position provides technical support and guidance to country operations, while ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems and overseeing country-specific IT activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support e-mail and internet functionality across the organization.
  • Troubleshoot LAN and wireless connection issues.
  • Provide hardware and software support.
  • Oversee software and network security, ensuring that antivirus systems are up-to-date.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on IT equipment as per the scheduled routine.
  • Perform general repairs on IT equipment and peripherals.
  • Ensure timely payment of internet and Thuraya bills.
  • Reinforce IT policies among users.
  • Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning as needed.
  • Administer domains and manage user email creation.
  • Maintain an inventory of all IT equipment and software in use and in storage.

Experience and Technical Competencies:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
  • Fluency in the local language.
  • Experience working in NGOs is preferred.

Languages:

  • Excellent Communication skills in English required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
