IT Intern – Country Focused Role
This role has a strong country focus and is responsible for ensuring compliance with DRC procedures and guidelines. The IT Intern plays a key role in contributing to the development of country strategies, translating them into action plans and supporting day-to-day tasks. The position provides technical support and guidance to country operations, while ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems and overseeing country-specific IT activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support e-mail and internet functionality across the organization.
- Troubleshoot LAN and wireless connection issues.
- Provide hardware and software support.
- Oversee software and network security, ensuring that antivirus systems are up-to-date.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on IT equipment as per the scheduled routine.
- Perform general repairs on IT equipment and peripherals.
- Ensure timely payment of internet and Thuraya bills.
- Reinforce IT policies among users.
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning as needed.
- Administer domains and manage user email creation.
- Maintain an inventory of all IT equipment and software in use and in storage.
Experience and Technical Competencies:
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- Fluency in the local language.
- Experience working in NGOs is preferred.
Languages:
- Excellent Communication skills in English required.
- Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
