Purpose of the Position

The incumbent will contribute to the creation and organization of the workspace for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Valencia Office/IDRC, supporting the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in implementing ADB processes. The intern will assist in coordinating operational requirements, preparing governance materials, and ensuring compliance with established standards under the guidance of senior staff.

Organizational Setting and Reporting

The incumbent(s) are expected to work 5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day under the supervision of a senior member of the Resilience Service Unit (DSSR) and in close collaboration with ADB, and will be provided guidance and support to perform the responsibilities mentioned below.

Duties and deliverables:

  • Assist in setting up the workspace for the ADB Valencia Office/IDRC, including coordination of space requirements, resources, and administrative materials

  • Support the FAO in implementing ADB processes within the IDRC by preparing documentation, templates, and governance materials

  • Contribute to cross-functional coordination by assisting in meetings, preparing periodic status reports, and maintaining dashboards

  • Assist in resource and budget monitoring by tracking divisional resources, supporting procurement activities, and monitoring contracts and payment milestones

  • Provide operational and administrative support by organizing workforce and service management data, assisting with staff onboarding, and coordinating divisional activities such as workshops or team meetings

  • Assist in any other deliverables as required by their user unit supervisor and team as required from time to time

Note: Work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Valencia, Spain time, which is generally equivalent to 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM Manila time during Spain daylight saving time, and 3:00 PM to 12:00 midnight Manila time when Spain is on standard time, unless otherwise agreed with the supervisor or user unit

Recruitment Profile

Experience:

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience to participate in the UNICC’s internship program, but applicants should have the following functional and technical skills:

  • Basic knowledge of IT governance frameworks, resource management, and organizational processes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools for tracking budgets, capacity, and divisional performance
  • Understanding of procurement processes, contract monitoring, and compliance standards
  • Ability to prepare reports, dashboards, and documentation under guidance.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment
  • Previous engagements in IT governance, workspace planning, IT operations, or related areas may be considered

Required education:

  • Be currently enrolled in a university programme (final year of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or equivalent) specializing in areas that are relevant to UNICC’s line of business such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Architecture, or related fields.
  • Applicants that have graduated in the last 6 months in one of the areas of expertise described above will also be considered

Required language skills:

Fluency in English is required (verbal and written)
