You have:
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme or enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master's degree or equivalent) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in Information Technology, Information Management, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of communication over intranet platforms based on SharePoint technology.
- Familiarity with knowledge management, information architecture, and digital content organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and capacity to translate technical content into clear, user-friendly messages.
- Must commence the internship on the date indicated in the Acceptance letter.
- Applicants are not required to have professional work experience to participate in the programme.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Head of GITSU, and in coordination with the IMTS Intranet focal point, the intern will: • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of improvements to the GITSU intranet pages based on the SharePoint platform. • Collect, classify, and publish relevant information related to IT services provided by the Information Management and Technology Section (IMTS). • Support the identification, launch, and adoption of new tools and platforms that foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, and peer-to-peer support across the organization. • Assist in creating and editing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and accessibility for OHCHR staff globally. • Provide technical and communication support to ensure intranet pages remain user-friendly, relevant, and up to date.
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of: • Information Technology, Information Management, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field. • Demonstrated knowledge of communication over intranet platforms based on SharePoint technology. • Familiarity with knowledge management, information architecture, and digital content organization. • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of another UN language is an asset. • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. • Attention to detail and capacity to translate technical content into clear, user-friendly messages. Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English or French is required, working knowledge of the other is an asset.
