Overview

Design and develop Power Apps to automate IT services tasks and workflows.

You have:

  • To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme, applicants must be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme, be enrolled in a graduate school programme, or have completed the aforementioned academic degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, including Power Automate and ASP.Net with C# programming language and SQL server experience.
  • Skills in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell) are an asset.
  • Experience in database management, process automation, and application development is preferred but not required.
  • Fluency in English is required, working knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Must commence the internship on the date indicated in the Acceptance letter.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of GITSU, the intern will: • Design and develop Power Apps to automate IT services tasks and workflows. • Implement software tools to automate monitoring activities and clean-up processes. • Draft and maintain system and desktop configuration documentation and reports. • Support the development of apps for IT asset recording using mobile cameras and barcode scanning. • Assist in identifying opportunities for automation and provide recommendations for process improvement. • Perform other related duties as required in support of IT service operations.

Qualifications/special skills

To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of: • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, ASP.Net, MVC with C# programming language and SQL server experience with related development environments. • Skills in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell) are an asset. • Experience in database management, process automation, and application development. AND, if selected, must commence the internship on the date indicated in the Acceptance letter. APPLICANTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAMME. None

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English or French is required, working knowledge of the other is an asset.
