Overview

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement competencies.
  • Experience working in a global IT organization.
  • Demonstrated success implementing new technology in areas where both core infrastructure and digital literacy is challenging.
  • Experience from the NGO sector and specifically with tools used in case management, data collection, business intelligence, ERP.
  • Knowledge of core IT methodologies such as ITIL and Agile.
  • Experience implementing IT security and data protection frameworks.
  • Fluent in English

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for an experienced IT Coordinator-HQ Hub to deliver local digital transformation, literacy, and efficiency through personal drive and dialogue across 8-10 countries.

As your capacity of IT Coordinator, you will drive the local implementation of global strategic objectives for IT & digitalization. You will connect business strategies and stakeholders through process improvements and efficiency gains, ensuring collaborative investments in digital enablers are benefiting the mission of DRC. You will be responsible for effective day-to-day IT services and support to country operations according to agreed service targets and within the global IT process framework, the individual will report directly to the Head of Global IT. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Business Partnering role:

  • Liaising with Senior Management Teams in countries to ensure alignment of IT & digital investments.
  • Plan and implement IT global infrastructure standards (laptops, firewall, networks, hosting etc) across assigned countries.
  • Propose IT solutions to automate and streamline the daily processes and operations.
  • Facilitate country level cost recovery for global/standard solutions (Microsoft O365, Dynamics, Heimdal etc) and global infrastructure standards.
  • Representing the country perspective in the global IT management team where global IT policies and standards are decided upon.
  • Providing technical direction, guidance, and where mandated, instructions to ensure compliance with DRC IT policies, standards, and strategies.

Technical Supervision role:

  • Supporting managers and IT staff through regular communication, capacity building, and promotion of best practices.
  • Support managers with assessing the IT skills and performance of most senior IT staff in country offices.
  • Escalating and, where authorized, addressing issues of non-compliance or poor performance in line with the technical supervision mandate.
  • Participating in the recruitment of IT staff in country offices.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have the necessary technical background to identify opportunities for digitalization. However, your communication skills, your ability to translate between business challenges and possible IT solutions, and your stakeholder engagement skills are what attract you to this role. Moreover, we also expect the following:
