How can you make a difference?

The IT Associate in the Business Team of Customer Care supports users to ensure that effective and efficient solutions are provided to business applications and GSSC process/policy related questions received via incidents and general enquiries. The IT Associate facilitates communication between users, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and IT Management, escalates incidents from users; maintains relevant documentation on known issues, processes and procedures related to the Business Team. In addition, he/she is expected to handle tasks or projects assigned by the supervisor to support the unit.

Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:

  • Provide Business Processes and Solutions Service support with the main focus on business queries and business applications
  • Knowledge management within Customer Care
  • Contribute to projects and additional ad-hoc activities

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of Secondary education is required, supplemented with any relevant formal education (Finance/Human Resources/Business Administration/Communication/International Studies/Information Technology)
  • A minimum of six years of practical work experience in the relevant field, requiring systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem solving is required. (A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted as 4 years experience and will be counted work experience requirements.)
  • Experience in assisting users on IT/ Business products and services and use of applications is required.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Visio) is required.
  • Knowledge of UNICEF’s ERP system (SAP/Vision) and Ticketing system (ServiceNow) is desirable.

  • ITIL Foundation Certificate or equivalent customer support certification is an asset

  • Work experience at a Shared Services Center is an asset.
  • Knowledge of UN/UNICEF'S rules, regulations and procedures is considered an asset.
  • Ability to understand data and effectively use office technology systems for its input and extraction.
  • Ability to handle work quickly and accurately under time constraints.

  • Demonstrates courtesy, tact, patience, and ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

General Service (GS) staff are locally recruited staff and therefore, candidates are personally responsible for any travel and accommodation arrangements. UNICEF does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff.
