How can you make a difference?

UNICEF GSSC is seeking for talented IT professional (Local Helpdesk) to provide technical, operation and procedural support and end-user services in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of information technology systems, procedures and activities of the GSSC office.

The role is ideal for seasoned professionals who wish to gain international exposure to a progressive expanding Centre of Excellence.

Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:

  • Provide technical, operation and procedural support and end-user services in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of information technology systems, procedures and activities of the GSSC office.
  • Support network administration, monitoring and managing network connectivity, telephony, videoconferencing, and IT security.
  • Provide support to general business applications, on premises and cloud. Incumbent need to monitor and escalate site-specific system performance issues and outages.

The role is office-based.

Education:

  • Completion of Secondary education (high school degree) is a minimum requirement, supplemented with specialized training in telecommunications, electronics or information technology or related fields. Computer-related certification is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the IT infrastructure area, including relevant practical work experience in the area of service / administration of large-scale data, voice and storage networks is required.

  • A completed university degree (Bachelor’s Degree) from an accredited institution will be counted toward four (4) years of work experience requirements.

  • University level courses in computer science, information systems, engineering, telecommunications, or equivalent qualifications is desirable.
  • Project management and ITIL certification and utilization would be an advantage
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 operating system and Microsoft Office365 is mandatory
  • Practical experience and working knowledge of various computer platforms and applications.

Language:

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is a strong asset.
