You have:
- A University degree in information technology, computing, communications or other relevant field.
- A secondary school diploma in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of university degree.
- At least seven years of experience in the technological support for international meetings.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team are required.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.

Result of Service
The ultimate goal is to provide comprehensive IT services and technical support for the preparatory work for the hosting of the First International Conference of the GFC in November 2026. This includes covering on-site technical preparations, video streaming, IT setup, network testing, and liaising with local technicians, while also ensuring the intranet is updated with meeting documents.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Global Framework on Chemicals - For a Planet Free of Harm (GFC) is an inclusive, voluntary global policy framework on the sound management of chemicals and waste and is hosted by UNEP, Chemicals and Health Branch in Geneva. UNEP is invited to provide continuity of effective secretariat services and administrative support for the implementation of the Framework and of the ICCM5 resolutions. The IT and Webmaster consultant will support the GFC Secretariat by: assisting the GFC Secretariat with the technical preparation and on-site support for the First International Conference in November 2026, including the preparation and packing of the equipment prior to the event; liaising with the venue IT and audio technicians and handling the technical configuration and testing prior to the arrival of GFC staff; setting up video streaming and IT services, including printers, and testing the network and Wi-Fi services on premises. The tasks will also include: technical assistance on Indico registration system and liaising with UNOG, also covering the initial setup and testing of badge printing; technical assistance to the team in charge of side events preparation, including hybrid setup and testing on site; support with the preparation and setup of delegate badges for plenary sessions; installation, technical support and troubleshooting for the registration desk; facilitate the IT and technical installation for GFC staff at the center and provide them with support throughout the event.
Qualifications/special skills
Education: A University degree in information technology, computing, communications or other relevant field with a corresponding suitable proven professional experience is required. A secondary school diploma in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of university degree. At least seven years of experience in the technological support for international meetings, specifically through the provision of a specially designed intranet system, are required. Excellent communication skills are required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team are required.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
