Long Description ---------------- The incumbent will be responsible for the following: - Provide guidance and assistance on the recrutment of interpreters in compliance with relevant UNESCO Rules and Regulations/AIIC-UN CEB provisions; - Support on all administrative matters related to planning and organizing interpretations services in six or more languages, in due time; - Liaise with meeting organizers to ensure that requirements are realistic and resources available; - Keep abreast of developments of new interpretation tools and service delivery mechanisms of interpretation in the UN common system and other public/private organizations; - Conduct market reaserch when required; - Undertake the implementation of pilot experience for use of automated interpretation and for collaboration with private agencies to provide interpretation services; - Undertake additional tasks that may be required to ensure the success of the work team. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ----------------------- ***Education*** - Advanced University degree (Master's or equivalent) in the field of Language, Business administration or a related field. ***Work Experience*** - Minimum of 4 years of progressively relevant professional experience in planning and organisation of interpretation works, of which preferably 2 years at international level. ***Skills and Competencies*** - Solid analytical skills and ability to speak and present effectively, concisely and persuasively. - Good organizational and coordination skills and ability to plan coordinate and monitor work-plans. - Ability to set priorities and capacity to work effectively under pressure. - Ability to work as part of a team, to take initiatives and follow up actions. - Team-spirit/Open personality and capability of creating good inter-personal relations. - Discretion, loyalty and diplomacy. - Commitment and reliability. - Knowledge of e-Conference tools: gMeets, DCPMS, gDOC, eLUNA, eAPG or other conference , translation and document management systems. - Good IT skills, including MS Office (Windows, Office Suite, Teams, etc.). ***Languages*** - Excellent knowledge of English or French and good knowledge of the other.
