Overview
Provide interpretation and translation services for meetings.
You have:
- Higher education in linguistics, public policy, international relations, or any other related field.
- At least 6 months of experience in translation and interpretation services (English – Spanish, French – Spanish) in related relevant areas.
- Good writing skills.
- Computer skills (especially with Microsoft Office applications), Zoom, and other online applications and the ability to use information technology as a tool and resource.
- Understanding gender equality and women's empowerment.

Youth and adolescent engagement are central to UN Women’s mandate. As reflected in the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan, UN Women “will continue to promote the voice and leadership of young people, including adolescent girls and young women, and support youth participation in decision-making, as well as the Entity’s own programming at global, regional, and country levels.” In order to strengthen UN Women’s ability to respond to the needs of youth and adolescents, equal participation in meetings, through interpretation, is needed to ensure their voices are heard within UN Women.
The online volunteers will be required to attend one-hour to two hours meetings and offer an interpretation. They will also be required to translate very short documents that will be shared in the meetings. There will be a maximum of 3 meetings a week.
