If you are committed and passionate about making a lasting difference for children, UNICEF Turkey would like to hear from you.

Adolescence is a period marked by the onset of puberty, sexual development, rapid physical growth and a second window of neurological development, following childhood. It is a time when adolescents explore who they are and want to be in the world, searching for identity, purpose and meaning through exploration and experimentation.

In Turkey, there are approximately 5 million adolescents aged 14-17 years out of a total population of 84.6 million. UNICEF Turkey’s ADAP programme supports the government’s efforts aimed at ensuring adolescents are learning and equipped with relevant life skills that will ensure they are empowered to contribute actively and positively to the economic and social life of their society.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is implementing its 2021-2025 Country Programme Document (CPD) that has a key result area and outputs on “Adolescents”, supporting their development, participation and engagement.

UPSHIFT- one of the key initiatives to be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) is an opportunity to support adolescents and youth today to become a force for positive social and economic change, contributing to a competitive labour force, sustained economic growth, improved governance, and vibrant civil societies and a key strategy towards achieving UNICEF results for adolescents and young people.

As a UNICEF ADAP Intern you will work on UPSHIFT and digital skills programmes for adolescents and youth to develop their creativity, participation and help them design solutions addressing challenges that they and their communities face.

Together with partners, you will support young people to develop ideas and solutions to respond to modern day challenges in their communities and increase the employability capacity of them.

You’ll get to present your ideas and outputs. You'll also receive mentoring and career advice from members of ADAP and select programme team and equally importantly, have a fun and inspiring internship experience in one of UNICEF’s most challenging country programmes and make contributions towards its CPD implementation.
