Are you looking for an exciting internship where you will have a meaningful impact on the world working with our enthusiastic team to develop a sustainable Supply Chain? Then you might be our new intern for the Autumn/winter semester 2023.

Who are we?

We are a team dedicated to supporting humanitarian activities through a sustainable supply chain and are passionate about the green transition. As an intern you will be working with the Global Sustainable Supply Chain Coordinator and the Expert on Circular Economy in DRC’s FRISC (Finance, Supply Chain & Risk) - Supply Chain department. As our new intern, you will work in close liaison with key stakeholders within the Supply Chain Unit, the Programme & Innovation Unit, IT, as well as sustainable champions across the whole Organisation. We have a strong team spirit and share a passion for our work.

About the internship

Our Sustainable Supply Chain team is looking for an intern who will get the opportunity to work with a broad range of sustainable supply chain initiatives, e.g., by sourcing environmentally friendly relief items, writing stories to publish in the monthly newsletter and mapping fleet activities. The intern will also be involved in DRC engagement in sustainable procurement, logistics, fixed assets and circular economy projects. The intern will support various aspects of sustainability, knowledge management and development of strategies and approaches to relevant thematic areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to obtain an in-depth understanding of the functioning of DRC and its work in the area of sustainable supply chain.

The intern is expected to:

  • Participate in meetings

  • Participate as part of a small project team, contributing to DRC Supply Chain’s annual environmental footprint reporting exercise, supporting the collection, review, analysis, and reporting of data from DRC’s global operations;

  • Support the DRC roadmap for a sustainable supply chain in the area of sustainable procurement, fixed assets, fleet, circular economy, and logistics internal and interagency fora;
  • Support the team with the analysis and presentation of environmental data;
  • Contribute to the development of awareness raising materials, case studies, articles, newsletters and other published material;

We offer flexibility in the type of tasks you will be assigned, so you also have the possibility to influence the tasks, subject to what is relevant for your study programme.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to work well independently as well as part of a team.

All employees and interns in DRC should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.

We expect you to:

  • Currently be studying for a master’s degree, preferably a relevant course, such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Supply chain, Logistics
  • Be fluent in English
  • Be proficient in the use of MS Office and preferably MS 365
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills

It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university in order to be considered for the internship.

We offer

The internship offers the opportunity to gain experience working for an international NGO, while working independently with different tasks related to communications and other tasks relevant to the intern’s profile.

You will learn how to work professionally with supply chains in an international organisation, while being part of a dynamic workplace.

Contract length: 4-6 months subject to study requirements and further dialogue

Workplace: DRC Headquarters located Borgergade 10, Copenhagen

Start date: 13th of November 2023. We can be flexible on the start date.

Working hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.

The internship is not paid but we offer:

  • 2,08 (unpaid) vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or be accumulated.
  • Free lunch in our canteen (subject to our canteen being open)
  • Free participation in our end-of-year party

Please note that if you do not have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa), in order to be selected for the internship.
