  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to work remotely and collaboratively with teams across multiple time zones.
  • Proof of medical insurance covering the duration of the internship.
  • Excellent academic performance as shown by recent university or institution records.
  • Related work experience is considered an asset.
  • Exposure in developing marketing products and advocacy is an asset.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.

The external environment and donor landscape is changing rapidly and there is a need to pursue fundraising and donor engagement in a systematic way. A Resource Mobilization Strategy that provides the road-map over the next three years to address these challenges. This internship seeks to immediately take forward some of the step-by-step activities for the next 6 months. The activities are clustered into broad thematic areas of planning and coordination which involve support to resource mobilisation meetings, consolidating resource mobilisation resources, donor identification, developing “two pager concept notes” and other relevant documentation for fundraising.

The intern will identify, propose and coordinate planned activities as well as implementation of key fundraising steps, in coordination with Chief of Units and sector leads. Will also collaborate with business stakeholders at Headquarter, Regional Office, and Country Office levels in identifying gaps in existing products and systems, while promoting and communicating use of existing corporate data products, information systems and solutions.

Under the overall guidance of the Planning and Monitoring Specialist in the Data & Analytics (D&A) team, and working closely work with the Chief of Units and sector leads, the intern will be responsible for the following:

  • Support in planning and coordination of monthly resource mobilisation meetings
  • Maintain and update SharePoint with appropriate resources (such as fundraising proposals donor engagement calendar) by working very closely with D&A staff
  • Carry out scanning and gathering of information in relation to fundraising opportunities
  • Support engagement and collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Programme Division (PD), Office of Emergency Programmes (EMOPS) among others
  • Provide support and facilitation of reaching out to identified potential donors
  • Support donor networking and advocacy efforts planned by D&A – proactively growing social media presence and sharing/dissemination of outreach materials
  • Contribute to development of concept notes and pitch documents such as fliers, donor toolkits to support fundraising efforts
  • Any other tasks as required by the supervisor
