Our programmes focus on improving the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the Kingdom, irrespective of their nationality, gender, religion or background. Our main pillars include: Child Protection; Education; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Adolescent and Youth Engagement; Health and Nutrition; Social Protection; and Operations.

How can you make a difference?

The intern is expected to use a wide range of skills, including analytical, coordination and communication skills. The candidate should be comfortable developing and reviewing external facing documents and be enthusiastic about interacting with a wide range of people both within and outside of UNICEF. Supervision and guidance will be provided on a dayto-day basis, and regular meetings will be organized to provide guidance and advice, if necessary. The intern will be exposed to learning and personal development opportunities within UNICEF. Specific tasks are highlighted below:

Reports:

  • Assist reporting staff and consultants on a needs-basis;
  • Compile data and copy for reporting from programme sections, and confirm the accuracy of data;
  • Planning, developing, compiling, drafting and editing of reports and to be used for donors, partners, and stakeholders (Including: monthly newsletters, presentations, donor progress and final reports, annual reports).
  • Support section’s ‘one-stop-shop’ approach to current and potential donors on UNICEF’s programmes in Jordan including coordination with UNICEF programme staff; sharing of fact-sheets and other programme related information; organization of visits to UNICEF programmes, and liaison with Government donors, Natcoms, and other relevant partners and stakeholders, as necessary.

Donor Relations:

  • In consultation with relevant programme sections, assist in drafting concept notes and proposals, and ensure that these are aligned with donor interests and UNICEF’s programme priorities under the Country Programme.
  • Support with production of donor updates, case studies, and appeals specific to donor portfolio as may be required.
  • Update briefing notes for Management, as necessary. Provide inputs for background and briefing notes to management and colleagues, as necessary.

Education: Be enrolled in an undergraduate, PHD or graduate degree programme, or have graduated within the past two years, preferably in the field of Human Rights, Communications, Social Sciences, Political Science, Economics or International Relations.

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to write complex reports, editing skills and demonstrated experience in drafting reports and proposals.
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university records.
  • Fluency in English (excellent writing).
