UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) is seeking a qualified individual to support the strengthening of WASH Knowledge Management both in the RO and COs by supporting all 4 pillars of the WASH KM strategy.

Work Assignment:

An intern will be responsible for supporting projects as outlined in the areas of WASH Knowledge Management both in the RO and COs by supporting all 4 pillars of the WASH KM strategy.

Duration of Contract: 6 months – part time (flexible arrangement, either 2.5 days per week or every morning /afternoon, detailed arrangement shall be discussed and agreed)

Working Schedule: Part time

Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be pursuing or have recently graduated with a MSc. University Degree in Communications Sciences, Journalism, Public Relations/administration, International Relations, Development studies, Human rights law, Public Health, Engineering or related fields.
  • Speaks and writes clearly and effectively. Listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others and responds appropriately. Asks questions to clarify and exhibits interest in having two-way communication. Tailors language, tone, style and format to match the audience.
  • Demonstrates openness in sharing information and keeping people informed.
  • Be fully computer literate in standard software applications. (Sharepoint experience an asset)
  • Have good analytical skills.
  • Possess good report writing skills.
  • Fluent in English. Fluency in another language from the region is an advantage
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
  • Prior experience in the work environment of an international agency, NGOs, UN, or international institutions would be desirable.

Conditions of Intern:

  1. Expenses: Stipend according to UNICEF’s guideline is applicable.
  2. Health/Medical insurance: UNICEF accepts no responsibility for costs or fatality arising from illness or accidents incurred during the internship whether on or off UNICEF premises. The intern must carry adequate and regular medical insurance. The intern will be required to provide with a proof of medical insurance prior to commence work.
  3. Confidentiality. The intern is required to respect the confidentiality of information that s/he collect or is exposed to at UNICEF. No reports or papers may be published based on information obtained from UNICEF without the explicit written authorization by the Head of Office or Division Director.
  4. Impartiality. The intern is required to respect the impartiality and independence required of UNICEF and will not seek or accept instructions regarding the services performed under the internship agreement from any Government or from any authority external to UNICEF.
  5. Employment Prospects. There is no expectance of employment at the end of the internship.

    Provision of Supervising and Monitoring:

The intern will work under the supervision of WASH Specialist, UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO).

Working Location: The intern will be working at UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO), Bangkok.
