UNICEF Country Program in Libya aims to ensure that by 2025, girls, boys (including new-born), adolescents, and women have increased access to and utilization of quality primary health and nutrition services and adopt healthy practices. This program component will be implemented in coordination with Governmental partners Ministry of Health, the National Centre for Disease Control, the Primary Health Care Institute, and the Health Information Centre. As well as international agencies including UN and INGOs.

To achieve this UNICEF Libya county office is seeking the support of a dynamic intern to assist the Health and Nutrition team in undertaking its ongoing projects to Improve MNCH health outcomes.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Provide overall administrative support to UNICEF health and Nutrition program team to facilitate the implementation of activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation of capacity building on different thematic areas, and Contribute to the improvement of activities at the national and local level
  • Prepare relevant documentation assets for Health and Nutrition Program with key information for dissemination (Power Point Presentation, briefs, reports, etc.)
  • Conduct Monitoring visits to evaluate and oversee ongoing Health and Nutrition projects
  • Provide translations from/to English and Arabic for any required Health and Nutrition documents /Meetings.
  • Support the health and Nutrition team in programmatic data collection based on available activities and guidelines as per defined indicators, data disaggregation, and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or any relevant field.

  • Experience in Public health Sector Data analysis and Research and In-country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies is considered an asset.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Be proficient in English and Arabic languages
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to.​​​​​​​
