For more than 75 years, UNICEF has been working on the ground in 190 countries and territories to promote children's survival, protection and development. UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments.

UNICEF delivers change by combining high-quality programmes at scale, harnessing innovation and collecting evidence, in partnership with Governments, other United Nations partners, civil society, the private sector, communities and children. It uses these to leverage wider change nationally and globally through advocacy, communications and campaigning. UNICEF also builds public support around the world to volunteer, advocate and mobilize resources for the cause of children, and works with partners to achieve an even greater impact.

The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships (PSFP) section within PFP works with National Committees and UNICEF country offices to maximize financial and non-financial support for children. Over the past two years, PFP has substantially grown revenue from the private sector, largely by optimizing emergency situations to mobilise resources successfully. We now look to attract a large number of donors, new to UNICEF or previous emergency donors, into long-term partners of UNICEF who give high levels of highquality (thematic) income to support our climate work. We have developed a methodology based on ways of working used in our ACT-A private sector engagement work and are now deploying that methodology, both within PFP and across UNICEF, to position UNICEF as a partner of choice and as a provider of global solutions to the world’s problems, to private sector actors engaging in climate. Through this methodology, we seek to raise more than $200m, along with associated expertise, from our proposition and to secure longterm partnerships that will contribute to sustainable income and influence for UNICEF. We are seeking an intern to support in project coordination of this work in the first half of 2024.

How can you make a difference?

Under the guidance of the development partnership team, the selected candidate will:

• Support the Chief of development partnerships in their day-to-day work and in capturing notes, preparing presentations and setting up meetings.
• Event coordination- work with the team event manager to ensure adequate positioning of UNICEF with high-value channels in the development partnerships teamwork.
• Support relevant working groups in capturing action points and following up on actions.
• Support the team in coordinating co-creation work with the National committees.
• Support the Development Partnerships team in the management of key internal, market and external stakeholders.
• Assist in the development and execution of virtual donor experiences.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years.
• Any past experience in a relevant field will be an asset.
• Be proficient in English and have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Fluency in other UN working languages will be an asset.
• Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
• Be ready and willing to take direction well and work in a dynamic, collaborative, multi-cultural environment
• Have a general understanding of and interest in world affairs, current events and humanitarian issues.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have no immediate relatives (e.g., father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to
