About the Role

Food environments play a pivotal role in shaping consumer behavior, especially in the context of rapidly changing food landscapes in the global south. Understanding how these evolving food environments influence dietary choices is crucial, particularly for positioning aquatic foods as sustainable sources of protein and micronutrients in regions where they are of significant public health importance. Additionally, such analyses can bolster advocacy efforts for the inclusion of aquatic foods in policy, planning, and investment decisions at national and regional levels. WorldFish is seeking an intern to assist in conducting a study that assesses food environments in three Southeast Asian countries and their impact on changing diets, including aquatic food consumption. This study will also involve forecasting the potential role of aquatic food systems in the future and the opportunities they present for enhancing food and nutrition security, promoting gender equity, and fostering sustainable livelihoods.
