Purpose of the internship:

The purpose of this internship is to support UNICEF’s work to improve child protection programming for children with disabilities. The individual will be responsible for supporting programme oversight of our partnership with local and international organizations supporting people with disabilities. The role will have specific functions to:

  • Provide monitoring support of child protection partnerships to support children with disabilities.
  • Support in drafting reports, completing UNICEF partnership management compliance responsibilities.
  • Advisory support on disability programming – particularly in relation to ensure equity and accessibility considerations are taken into account in programming and negotiations.
  • Support in research, development, and evidence generation in case management systems to support children with disabilities.
  • Support in UNICEF internal systems, procedures and access for people with disabilities in UNICEF.
  • Liaison and representation of UNICEF within disability coordination mechanisms in South Sudan and at the regional level
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements: • Be a South Sudanese national • Be a person with a disability • Either be currently enrolled in or a graduate of an undergraduate/advanced university degree • Academic qualification in disability rights, child protection, social work is an asset. • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of local language(s) is an asset.
