The PFP Market Knowledge Unit provides insights and knowledge to UNICEF National Committees and fundraising country offices, as well as other units within PFP.

The PFP Communication and Marketing Section provides UNICEF National Committees and fundraising country offices with guidance and technical support for their public outreach efforts, including individual donations, corporate engagement, and brand and communications. This involves providing market research services covering opinion surveys and market knowledge and insights.

How can you make a difference?

This internship is being established to increase the Market Knowledge unit’s capacity to run new and advanced statistical analysis, update flagship documentation, carry out additional audience knowledge gathering work, as well as to provide an opportunity for a high-performing student to learn more about UNICEF’s work and specifically how Market Knowledge fits into UNICEF efforts to effectively engage key external stakeholders.

Main tasks:

Under the supervision of the Market Research Specialist and in close collaboration with the Market Knowledge Unit staff members, the tasks to be undertaken include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

Supporting the Market Research Specialist in:

  • Update documentation for Corporate partnership
  • Correlation analysis looking at drivers of engagement behaviors
  • Gathering audience knowledge for UNICEF campaigns
  • Deepening knowledge of Youth culture

Tasks and projects are subject to change.

Deliverables:

  • High quality, accurate update of Corporate partnership documentation
  • Correlation analysis presented in visually appealing and easily understandable manner
  • Analysis of audience presented in PowerPoint document
  • Power Point document gathering results of Google search in relation to youth, focus on Youth and Covid: during and after.

Modality: Paid, Fulltime

Tentative start date: tentatively 17 August 2020

Duration: 3-4 weeks

Workplace: Remotely or in Geneva, Switzerland

Reporting to: Market Research Specialist, Market Knowledge, Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP)

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Be highly numerate and have experience in advanced statistical analysis.
  • Have a first experience of working (e.g. internship) in the private sector is a plus.
  • Be proficient in at least one of UNICEF's working languages: English, French or Spanish. Fluency in the working language of the office you are applying to is required.
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and
  • Have no other relatives in the line of authority which the intern will report to.
