Duties and Responsibilities** Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Jakarta Office, and the direct supervision of the Head of the Education Unit and in close coordination with the project team, the incumbent serves as an International Project Coordinator for Education Unit of the UNESCO Jakarta Office, based in UNESCO Dili Antenna Office. The incumbent is expected to support and coordinate implementation of project activities and the final outputs of the Extra-budgetary Project entitled as, ***"Digitalization of Chega National Center for Conflict Reconciliation and Peacebuilding in Timor­ Leste***". The incumbent shall work under the project's workplan and frameworks of UNESCO's Medium­ Term Strategy and global development plans to achieve SDG 4 for Quality Education, the Agenda 2030. In particular, the incumbent will perform the following functions: Long Description ---------------- **A. Coordinate the project implementation.** 1\. Coordinate the field implementation activities of the four major projects’ outcomes under the work plan, i.e (1) Improved operational and service quality of CHEGA National Centre for archive preservation, management, service, and human resource’ capacities at the International Standard; (2) Established Quality History and Peacebuilding Education; (3) Strengthened the national and regional Capacities and partnerships and (4) Accomplished quality of project with max. visibility of KOICA and UNESCO. 2\. Coordinate and organize international and national training, workshops and meetings in the close project's teamwork to strengthen the national and regional capacities and partnerships. 3\. Initiate coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders within Timor-Leste and other relevant partners and its implementation. 4\. Support the project team for monitoring, evaluating and reporting the field implementation activities of the project and its progress to ensure that planned implementation of activities is on time under the work plans of the project in achieving SDG 4 for Quality Education. Long Description ---------------- 5\. Liaise with the Project's team based in the Jakarta office to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities at the national, regional and international levels. 6\. Attend regular meetings of the Education Unit of UNESCO Jakarta Office and Education Group Meetings organized by the government, national and international agencies in relation to the project and provide updates on the progress of project activities for team support and guidance. 7\. Attend international meetings which will be organized by UNESCO at Jakarta and/or Bali in relation to the project activities with the indicated estimate travel cost and any unspent amount should be returned to UNESCO. 8\. Attend the History Teachers’ Study Networks Workshop and History Education Teachers’ Training which will be organized by UNESCO at the district levels in cooperation with implementing partners and Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, Timor-Leste with the indicated estimate travel cost and any unspent amount should be returned to UNESCO. 9\. Attend High-Levels International Benchmarking Training in Seoul, South Korea with the estimated indicate travel cost and any unspent amount should be returned to UNESCO. Long Description ---------------- **B. Develop and coordinate advocacy and visibility activities** 1\. Support in the development and production of an Advocacy Film on the project's introduction and activities on Education-related in Timor-leste for the visibility of UNESCO and KOICA. 2\. Support in the development of learning materials of the Project, including training modules to be shared through UNESCO portals and other networks. 3\. Support in the development of regular publication regarding the project such as press release and newsflashes to be distributed to medias, various stakeholders and the public through UNESCO and the project's working partners' e-portals. 4\. Manage and support the operation of Facebook page established for the Project to update and provide news and information regarding the project's implementation including key events, stories collected from field activities, main progress of the project, etc. **C. Build partnerships** 1\. Work, maintain and ensure close coordination with the project's partnership agencies such as the CHEGA National Centre, Timor-Leste's Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport, the National Commissions for UNESCO in Timor-Leste & Republic of Korea, and other international & governmental organizations including the donors. 2\. Prepare the donor report such as Quarterly Progress Report, Bi-annual Progress Reports and Annual Progress Reports. 3\. Organize review meetings and prepare any relevant documents such as meeting minutes, briefings, presentations, etc. 4\. Prepare concept notes, agreements, proposals for new project funding requests and other documents if required. **D. Other tasks** 1\. Carry out any other related tasks delegated to her/him by the Head of Education Unit and the Director of UNESCO Jakarta Office. Short Description ----------------- **2. QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------- **3.1 Education** Advanced university degree (equivalent to Masters) in the relevant fields of Education, Social and Human Sciences, or other Related fields. **3.2 Work Experience** • Minimum five (S) years of professional experience in the relevant field of education. • Experience in Education Sector with Government and international education sectors' development partners, and in-depth knowledge of the challenges in the education sectors would be an asset. **3.3 Skills and Competencies** • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work in a team and to maintain effective working relationships in a multicultural environment. • Analytical skills, ability to collect, synthesize and analyze information from various sources. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. **3.4 Language** • Excellent written and spoken skills in English. • Understanding of the languages of duty station and the project's donor such as Portuguese,Tetun, Korean would be an asset. **4.
