You have:

  • First degree in Law is required.
  • Master’s degree in political science, international relations, peace and conflict, or IHL is required.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in political affairs, international relations, law, conflict resolution, security, peace talks, development management, or related area is required.
  • Experience in a conflict or post-conflict setting is highly desirable.
  • Experience working on or in Latin America is desirable.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.

Result of Service

Document with the summary of the support and oversight of the broad process of civil society and communities’ participation in the peace dialogues ensuring alignment with the rights standards of victims and IHRS in the processes at the national and regional level, with the highlights on lessons learned and proposal based on the findings.

Duties and Responsibilities

The IC is from March 18, 2024 until September 17, 2024 with possibility of extension according funds. • Support the analysis of inputs from the monitoring of the human rights situation in Colombia regarding peace talks. • Support elaboration and implementation of OHCHR-Colombia strategy to promote participation of civil society on the peace talks. • Support and recollect information from the field offices under the implementation of OHCHR-Colombia strategy to promote participation of civil society on the peace talks. • Support the design of the methodology to foster the participation of communities on peace talks and the incorporation of a victim’s centered approach and of International Human Rights Standards (IHRS) in the processes at different levels. • Analysis of human rights issues/problem areas, emerging and evolving trends of human rights concerns and violations as well as response and capacity gaps, and assist in the development of strategies to respond. • Prepare technical drafts on diverse topics related to the peace talks and on human rights violations suffered by conflict affected communities. • Support the articulation and technical assistance from agencies, funds, and programs regarding the peace talks.

Qualifications/special skills
