Overview

Analyze development bank financing opportunities for Cuba

You have:

  • Master’s Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics or similar.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience working with Development Banks and/or IFIs is required
  • Preferable experience working with Countries under sanctions
  • Knowledge of the UN System is an asset
  • Knowledge of development financing instruments is an asset
  • Fluency in Spanish and English

Result of Service A deep knowledge of the development bank and other financial institutions financing instruments that could be applicable to Cuba and a strategy to access them.

Work Location working remotely

Expected duration 4 months

Duties and Responsibilities 1) Map development banks and other financial institutions prioritizing those that work in the Region identifying: priorities, strategies, financing instruments, call for proposals or other financing windows, key events, key engagement opportunities, governance, list of contacts and all relevant information.

2) For each development bank and other financial institutions identify what instruments are applicable to Cuba or what are the main barriers and make suggestions what entry points (preferable for financing but for technical assistance too) the UNS in Cuba could explore.

3) Create a model/s and roadmaps to engage with each of the identified development banks and other financial institutions including a detailed action plan of next steps.

4) Analyze the working modality with current Development Banks and IFIs UNS in Cuba is working with and identify good practices that could be shared with development banks and IFIs.

Qualifications/special skills Master’s Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics and similar. A minimum of 4 years’ experience working with Development Banks and/or IFIs is required Preferable experience working with Countries under sanctions Knowledge of the UN System is an asset Knowledge of development financing instruments is an asset

Languages Fluency in Spanish and English.
