How can you make a difference?

Under supervision of the Communication Specialist and collaboration with the UNICEF Timor-Leste Communications team the consultant will produce, edit and enhance the UNICEF Timor-Leste Website digital content. Tasks include performing all aspects of editorial and content development work.

The following tasks are envisaged:

  • Conduct research and review of available content and documents, including the situation analysis of children in Timor-Leste and existing content
  • Prepare a draft version of the site map and content.
  • Complete final revision of the English language draft based on the edits and comments.
  • Provide Tetun language version of all content

Work Assignment:

  1. Review the current English-language UNICEF Timor-Leste website, documents on child rights in Timor-Leste, and produce a draft site map and proposed content plan based on new Country programme Document shared by UNICEF Timor-Leste
  2. Revise the content of each page of the current website
  3. Finalize updated site content based on input and comments from UNICEF Timor-Leste.

Deliverable:

  1. Draft site map and content plan (1 week)
  2. Revised, rewritten and updated UNICEF Timor-Leste website content (2 weeks)
  3. Finalized updated website content (2 weeks)

Duration of Assignment: 25 working days spread over in 2 months

Proposed payment schedule: Lumpsum payment upon satisfactory delivery of the updated site

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • 5+ years of experience in writing, proofreading and copyediting (ability to accurately check spelling, grammar, punctuation, readability, consistency and style according to UNICEF guidance and Style Book). Developing content for UNICEF websites would be an advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent coordination skills.
  • Excellent content development and creation skills.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and work under pressure as part of a team, or independently.
  • The ability to accept detailed feedback and incorporate changes accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Experience working with UNICEF would be an advantage.
