Overview

Develop a concept note and training material for the team workshop in Egypt.

You have:

  • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Political Science, Law, sociology or economics is required.
  • A first-level university degree or equivalent academic education, professional training with certification from a recognized institution with specialization in Law, or other related areas, in combination with additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in organized crime and Anti Human trafficking at the international or regional level is required.
  • Specialist knowledge in the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its supplementing Protocols against Trafficking in persons and Smuggling of Migrants.
  • Previous working experience in or in relation to North Africa is a strong desirable.
  • Proven experience in delivering anti-human trafficking and/or migrant smuggling trainings, including developing/drafting and presenting training materials are desirable.
  • Oral and written fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.

Result of Service

  • Concept note for the team workshop developed. - Agenda and session plan for the team workshop developed and disseminated with participants before the training workshop. - Background and training material developed and available at the team workshop. - Contact with designated speakers established and specific presentations agreed upon. - Workshop and regional event successfully implemented.

Duties and Responsibilities

For the conceptualization, preparation and implementation of the team workshop in Egypt: • Develop and draft a Concept Note and Agenda for the team workshop • Prepare training material for meaningful engagement during the workshop • Engage with staff for the delivery of specific interventions during the training workshop • Implement team workshop by holding impulse presentations, guiding team activities and moderating discussions

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Political Science, Law, sociology or economic is required. A first-level university degree OR equivalent academic education, professional training with certification from a recognized international/national institution with specialization in Law, or other related areas, in combination with additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Certification or other qualification in the area of Anti Human trafficking is an advantage. At least 10 years of professional experience is required in the field of organized crime and Anti Human trafficking at the international or regional level is required. Specialist knowledge in the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its supplementing Protocols against Trafficking in persons and Smuggling of Migrants Previous working experience in or in relation to North Africa is a strong desirable. Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, oral and written fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
