Lead and moderate training sessions on gender dynamics and empowerment.
You have:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, criminology, international development, gender studies, social science, or a related field is required.
- A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of combined and relevant professional experience in a leadership position in the fields of criminal justice, criminal law, human rights, gender equality and women empowerment, and/or rule of law is required.
- Experience in capacity building activities on Transnational Organized Crime, delivering training, including developing training materials on combatting trafficking in persons or other serious crimes is required.
- Professional experience with criminal justice systems in a common law country is required.
- Experience in delivering training, including developing training materials on combatting trafficking in persons or other serious crimes is required.
- Previous work experience as a prosecutor or judicial authority, criminologist, in a common law system is desirable.
- Experience working with trafficking in persons issues is desirable.
- Experience working in Eastern/Central/North Africa is desirable.
- Experience within the United Nations system or similar international organizations is desirable.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required.
- Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.

Work Location
Home-based with travel to Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Libya and Sudan.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Regional Representative for the Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa (ROMENA), and direct supervision of the Regional Programme Coordinator (Anti-Human Trafficking & Migrant Smuggling), UNODC/ROMENA, the consultant will perform the following specific tasks: A) Preparatory work, such as review of materials, development of the concept notes, agenda, case studies, presentations of Module 1 “Gender Dynamics and Empowerment: Navigating Power Relations and Leadership in Contemporary Society” B) Facilitate/Deliver the module/training: Module 1 – “Gender Dynamics and Empowerment: Navigating Power Relations and Leadership in Contemporary Society” C) Prepare and submit outcome report based on the outcome of the discussion, interaction as relevant to the region on Module 1
