Overview

Provide pedagogical guidance for blended learning material development

You have:

  • An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in a subject closely related/relevant to social sciences or education is required.
  • A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional working experience in the field of pedagogy and education is required.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent drafting and communication skills, is required.
  • Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.

Develop efficient pedagogical guidelines and other materials related to the delivery of blended learning. Provide pedagogical guidance to counterparts for the development of blended learning;

Duties and Responsibilities

The role of the Consultant will be to provide substantive support to the Programme Management Unit in the following tasks:

(i) To contribute to the overall implementation of the programme throughout its deliveries.

(ii) To provide pedagogical guidance to counterparts in the creation of new capacity-building activities.

(iii) To develop efficient pedagogical guidelines and other related materials related to the delivery of blended learning.

(iv) To contribute to the development of storyboards by providing pedagogical inputs.

(v) To monitor, assess, identify solutions and report in which way the implementation of the project can be improved and assist the Programme Coordinator and the Programme Officer responsible for production in developing new innovative pedagogical strategies and technologies.

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in a subject closely related/relevant to social sciences or education is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional working experience in the field of pedagogy and education is required. Demonstrated experience in communication, organization and innovation is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English, with excellent drafting and communication skills, is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
