1. Contexte et justification:

2. Objectifs:

Under the supervision of the Chief of Communication, the incumbent of the post will provide professional communications support in delivering effective digital outreach, with the objective of promoting awareness, understanding, support and respect for children’s and women’s rights.

3. Taches, responsibilités et méthodologies:

Strategy implementation and campaigns

1. Develop and implement a digital communication strategy in line with the communication and advocacy priorities in the country, particularly social media through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification;

2. Monitor current events, public opinion and press, identifies issues and trends, and advises management on appropriate digital media response;

3. Analyse implementation and impact of UNICEF DRC’s social media presence and produce detailed monthly reports and analysis using online monitoring tools;

4. Lead web content development and integration for UNICEF campaigns to support achievement of UNICEF advocacy goals;

5. Partner with DOC, Programme, Country and Regional colleagues to create compelling content, landing pages and microsites for campaigns, partnerships, reports and critical UNICEF initiatives.

Content creation and outreach

1. Build the online community through social media platforms;

2. Oversee the management of UNICEF DRC’s digital media platforms including uploading audio and video; monitoring sites and moderating social media forums;

3. Ensure content is aligned with UNICEF's 'voice', messaging and strategic direction, paying attention to sensitive issues and maintaining UNICEF style and factual accuracy;

4. Ensure the promotion of the content published by the community animators on Ponabana and Okapi Enfant.

5. Manage social media communication and develop relationships with key partners and donors to maximize visibility and traffic UNICEF DRC’s platforms.

Guidelines and best practices

1. Supervise the digital communication team in order to be able to communicate quickly and effectively on emergency situations (epidemics, natural disasters, conflicts, etc.);

2. Contribute to the development and application of guidelines, procedures and governance standards;

3. Provide support to Country and Programme colleagues to ensure a constant stream of content from the field, as well as the community animators (Ponabana and Okapi Enfant).

5. Profile du Consultant et Qualifications requises :

• An advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in journalism, communication, international relations, political science, development studies or other fields related to this position.

• A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in communication, digital engagement, social media, marketing.

• Excellent writing and editing, including a strong understanding of online storytelling and news, as well as a solid fact-checking and copy-editing background.

• Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.

• Fluency in English and French is required.
