Context and Purpose of the Consultancy:

Under the supervision of the Executive Manager, this consultancy will support a range of strategic communication initiatives for the Supply Division Director’s Office, including preparations for internal and external engagements, drafting and editing of written communications, coordination and production of social media and multimedia content, and coordination of high-level events and meetings.

Key Tasks

1.Coordinate campaigns, messaging, and strategic content for the Director’s social media channels; draft, review, and quality check copy, as needed 2.Draft Director-level communications for internal and external messages and correspondence; 3.Support the preparation of multimedia materials, such as video scripts, interviews, podcasts, etc. 4.Conceptualize and draft strategic content on behalf of the Director, such as articles, op-eds, and blogs 5.Support the coordination of high-level meetings and events convened by the Director’s Office 6.Support the development of briefing notes, talking points and presentations for Director-level engagements 7.Contribute to and review of internal reporting exercises, as required 8.Other writing and editing support as necessary.

Requirements:

Academic:

Advanced university degree in communications, journalism, public health, international relations, or related field. A combination of relevant academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum seven years of professional experience working in communications or journalism
  • Demonstrated familiarity with UNICEF’s work in supply and logistics is an asset.
  • Exceptional skills in writing, editing, and proof-reading are required
  • Extensive experience in digital media, including social media is an asset.
  • Proven track record of boosting social media engagement and follower growth is an asset;
  • Excellent organizational and coordination capacity is required;
  • Proven capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team is required.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
