You have:
- Advanced university degree in journalism, communications, public affairs or related field, or an undergraduate degree and 10 years of experience.
- 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in external communication and video production.
- Knowledge and experience working in emergencies, particularly in Africa.

Scope of Work:
The videographer will play a key role in helping to produce high-level communication assets related to the GBV problem and the humanitarian context, as well as UNICEF’s response to it, including assets which will be used for online outputs. Over the course of the contract, she/he may be required to help prepare different types of multimedia essays and written reports in coordination with communication consultants, UNICEF social media staff and a graphic designer. He/she will be expected to produce and edit videos taken during their time in the field and ensure the images are up-loaded to UNICEF’s WeShare system.
The videographer will be expected to produce:
- A wide range of videos and captions (in well written English) including case studies on GBV and humanitarian related stories throughout eastern Congo.
- 6 video stories with captions for a social media.
Work Assignment Overview
- Initial discussion/meetings with chief of communication, Head of Field Office and Programme chiefs and managers
- Field work (filming) with programme colleagues in Bukavu
- Field work (filming) with programme colleagues in Goma
- Field work (filming) with programme colleagues in Bunia
- Field work (filming) with programme colleagues in Kananga
- Completing editing video stories
- Preparing video Archiving
- Finalizing captions
Minimum Qualifications required
- Advanced university degree in the field of journalism, communications, external relations, public affairs, public relations or corporate communications, or an undergraduate degree plus at least 10 years of demonstrated professional experience in of journalism, communications, external relations, public affairs, public relations or corporate communications.
- 10 years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in external communication, and in the production of professional videos and video stories, in line with the standards defined by UNICEF HQ.
- Knowledge and experience in working in emergencies in general, and in Africa in particular.
