TERMS OF REFERENCE

Background and Justification

The ESARO ICT and Innovation section is planning the first in-person Network Meeting since COVID-19 and will be inviting the CO ICT and T4D focal points from across the region. Under the new UNICEF Strategic Plan 2022-2025, the ICT function is undergoing a fundamental change to support the Digital Transformation Change Strategy. This involves an explicit responsibility to support Digital Transformation for UNICEF’s programme priorities, meaning that the CO ICT and T4D/Innovation focal points are responsible for establishing relationships with colleagues outside of the traditional Operations side of the office.

Considering the importance of these new relationships, Business Relationship Management is a capacity that has been identified as being of primary importance for ICT colleagues. ICT Division has already established new BRM roles at the HQ level and refers to both the Regional Chief of ICT and the Regional T4D Business Analyst as BRMs within the regional offices. This BRM capacity is also now being integrated within new generic job descriptions, so CO ICT colleagues will soon be expected to perform this role as well.

The ESARO ICT and Innovation section has recognized this trend and is planning to utilize the upcoming Network Meeting to begin orienting the key CO focal points about this important BRM capacity.
