How can you make a difference?

The Health Officer (Immunization NOA) reports to the Health Officer (NOB) and will work with Immunization Specialist for close guidance and supervision.

The Health Officer (Immunization) will provide professional technical support on various aspects of immunization program applying knowledge and skills acquired during their academic and professional experience. The staff will also provide operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process through the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical programme information on vaccine and its impact on immune system, types of vaccines and mechanism of interaction with human body, immunity and protection levels, adverse events following immunization, vaccine storage, cold chain management, various immunization strategies and their relevance, need and applicability while learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures to support the development and formulation of the Health Programme within the Country Programme.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Support development and planning of immunization program in Lebanon
  2. Technical and operational support to immunization programme implementation
  3. Support implementation of planned interventions though programme management, monitoring, partnership, and delivery of results
  4. Support innovation, knowledge management and capacity building on immunization program

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: A university degree in one of the following fields is required: public health, medicine, pediatric health, family health, , global/international health, health policy and/or management, , epidemiology, or another relevant technical field.

Experience: A minimum of one year of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: public health planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, immunization, disease surveillance.

  • Work experience in immunization program will be an asset and will be prioritized.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
